A Million Stories is a curated archive of authentic human-made stories. Please read our guidelines so your story is a great fit for our readers and the permanent museum record.
Your stories and art must be human-created
We welcome both fiction and nonfiction — what matters is that your work is authentically yours. No AI-generated content, no copying others' work.
Written in your language
All submissions may be in your native language. Note: they will be translated to English for any editing, and translated into readers' language of choice for reading.
Length: 250 – 1,000 words
Stories should be substantial enough to convey an experience or emotion, but short enough to read in one sitting.
A cover image brings your story to life
Your own photo or artwork to accompany your story is ideal — it doesn't need to be professional.
What We Don't Accept
No AI-generated content
Your story must be written entirely by you. We do not accept stories generated or substantially drafted by AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.). Our editors check for this.
No plagiarism or copied content
All stories must be your own original work. Submitting work that is copied, paraphrased from others, or previously published elsewhere is not permitted.
No hate speech, explicit violence, or harmful content
We do not publish content that targets individuals or groups with hate, glorifies violence, or could cause harm to readers.
